Not to mention that death from cold is far greater than death from heat. That doesn't mean that we ought to accept more heat death for less net death. (Crank up the AC!) Yet if they're proposing shutting down modern life in the name of avoiding more heat death, they must acknowledge the context of how many cold deaths will be prevented. But then, that wouldn't fan the fear and hysteria.
Of course, the solution to death from both heat and cold is to use machines and energy to control our immediate climate (i.e. heaters, AC, etc.).
"The summer of 2024 was Arizona’s hottest on record." Well, maybe. I live here and pay attention to these claims and look at my own thermometers. They often read lower than the reported temperature. Phoenix has a major problem with ridiculous placement of thermometers. For instance, see:
I am all for various technological adaptations, but we should also promote some passive old-school technologies such as rammed earth construction, earth air tunnels, and just burrowing a bit underground. Lower life forms and primative humans have beat climate change more extreme than this and in either direction for a long while, by not attempting to change the change. Adaptation is a much wiser strategy, and we have the advantage of higher intelligence now. So why does it seem like we're the morons in this story?

you are keen on adaptation and 'passive-technologies' and in much of the world they function quite well [ e.g. evaporative cooling ] but people are now pushing into areas of extreme temperature variation and are "being caught out" by being unprepared.
I am not sure that everyone is being "the moron in the story" but there sure seems to be a fairly large number of DELUDED people who simplistically attribute every adverse event to "Catastrophic Climate Change" , no matter whether it is TOO HOT or TOO COLD , it's all down to the same cause........human beings ! I fact , greedy , selfish , short-sighted human beings ! We have brought it all on ourselves ! It's 'mother nature exacting her revenge' !
We are all going to die ! Which of course is true.....but that's mostly due to old age now !
You must NOT allow the FACTS to distort or distract you from a 'good disaster narrative'....
because that will make you 'a nasty , evil person , one whose opinion is invalid and wrong !
e.g. I loved Max More's tale about the 'record high temperature' in Arizona , recorded at the airport......where so many "climatologist's thermometers" are 'conveniently located ' ........alongside an idling JET ENGINE waiting to take off ! What a surprise THAT was !!!
The "ONE" I love relating is how the "great thaw" actually commenced 20,000 years ago !
Apparently , from an"ice-ball-like" , "moribund state", the EARTH suddenly began to warm and although virtually devoid of life , a vast surge of atmospheric CO2 kicked-in and ice-sheets , glaciers , polar ice caps and everything else began to warm and melt and liquid water created vast rivers , lakes and oceans , and forests and meadows ........and 'mother nature' gnashed her teeth , rent the EARTH and muttered something along the lines of
" Oh ! No ! Not again ! Just when I thought I had finally finished this lot off !!! They're back again ! How many times do I need to do this before they all finally succumb ???"
So , we humans owe a great debt of gratitude to those adventurous , fractious and disobedient POLAR BEARS who drove their fume-producing "off-floe" SUV's all over the place , churning out warmth-producing-CO2 and revitalising the WORLD we know today !
Of course , THAT could be just a rumour , but it thawed out somehow DESPITE THE ODDS !
And...we have ALL been taught that THAT is not natural or cyclical haven't we !!!
