What is Human Progress?

There is overwhelming evidence showing dramatic improvements in human wellbeing. Unfortunately, there is a wide gap between the reality of the human experience, which is characterized by incremental improvements, and public perception, which tends to be quite pessimistic about humanity's current and future condition.

To help rectify the widely held misperceptions about the state of the world, we at Human Progress gather and publicize empirical data from reliable organizations that track long-term global trends. Our goal is to provide a useful resource for students, scholars, journalists, policymakers, and the general public. Moreover, we hope that our website leads to a greater appreciation of the improving state of the world and stimulates intelligent debate about the drivers of human progress.

On HumanProgress.org, you can find interactive datasets, a curated list of the most important global trends, podcasts, regular blog posts and news updates, and much more. All of our content and features can be used for free, but acknowledgment is always appreciated.
