It is "the sky is falling" argument all over again!! We'll all be starving! The world is warming! The world is cooling! There's too many people! The oil is running out! There's a meteor coming to kill us!

Scam, scam, scam. Scam me once, shame on you, scam me over and over again - shame on me.

Marian, I agree with your central conclusion. Expanding computing power and data-centre capacity creates extraordinary opportunities for artificial intelligence, research, better public services, innovation and economic growth. We should approach this progress with confidence in human ingenuity and the capacity to create greater water and energy abundance. Depending on the location and its circumstances, proponents and developers should bear the cost of making each data centre water-positive and energy-positive, leaving local water and energy systems stronger than they found them.

Maybe AI will solve its own water/resource "problem".
