The quote I remember fro Yasser Arafat is :

With my Enemies , I make Friends ; With my Friends , I make Business .

Palestine sorely misses as eloquent a voice .since .

The pieces on how international trade improve human rights is interesting. At the same time, there’s nations who so brutally-oppress their citizens that it might be good that they’re cut off. I don’t think you could ever convince me to buy something from North Korea.

“Militarized central planners tend to wage war on their own citizens.”

Make no mistake, I strongly agree with your broad thesis here.

But your quoted sentence distracts from the reality.

Authoritarians of all stripes wage war on their own citizens, no doubt.

But so do central planners by the nature of their system.

The adjective “militarized” distracts from the reality that the anti-capitalist socialist utopian central planners tend to wage war on their own citizens, because they don’t believe in individual freedom.

By putting the adjective there you help to allow leftists to pretend that they are only for “unmilitarized” central planning and ownership of the means of production.

But such a state of being does not exist.
