I disagree ! My experience has been that each individual has a propensity to be optimistic or pessimistic and that that state is largely down to their own personality ...and how they choose to express in from moment to moment !
I have had experience of all sorts of people and immigrants are just the same as those born here ! They often share he same beliefs , dreams and aspirations as one another.
And no !
You can't stand in a bucket and lift yourself by pulling on the handle ....even optimistically !
You may personally have changed your outlook by "positive thinking" and if it was an improvement , then I am happy for you ! My view is that people "just get on with life" and all these attributions as to WHY some fail and some succeed are "after the fact" evaluations and really play little or no part in the reality or achievement !
e.g. Arvi Parbo vs Howard Florey !? Which man made the greater contribution....or does it really matter ? Both are / were highly successful but in different fields !
e.g. Some people win LOTTO.......but only self motivated optimists ?? Highly unlikely !
Actually , if you are alive and actually function with a reasonable mind and body , then you have already "won the lottery" ............of life anyway !
Gratitude and HUMILITY go a long way in making people approve of you or not........so........personality , and how you interact with others , shape your life !
Brilliance is rare and even more rarely fully utilised !!! It can be it's own mental cage !
You are not slaying doom by editorializing. I get all the editorializing I need in traditional media. Stick to the premise and the promise.
Is the Tech Right Delusional, or what?
